Just One Cent More?

Back Story: It’s the holiday season, though to be honest this happens year round, and I’ve been getting coupons/sales notices in my inbox. Sometimes a deal’s so good that, even if  don’t necessarily need an item . . . you get the idea.

Current Information: Shoebuy.com has a nice promotion going with “Pay By Visa.” If you use your Visa card to check out, you get $50 off $100 purchase. That’s a significant savings, especially if you’re looking at “better” running shoes for your daughter. Combine this discount with a current sale on running shoes . . .

The running shoes are on sale — sure, they’re the older version but that’s all right — for $99.99! They’ve got her size and some fancy colors . . . excellent

First World Problem: The coupon only works with $100+ in the cart. I’ve searched for the lowest priced item on the entire site and it appears to be a $20 pair of socks. (Even shoelaces are $25!)  So the shoes sit in the cart . . . our poor daughter’s going to have to make do with her current pair of running shoes . . which are just fine . . . and in perfect shape . . .and are comfortable . . .
